The first flight under the pilot project to open the country for tourists is scheduled to arrive at the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) tomorrow carrying more than 200 passengers from Ukraine, Airport and Aviation Services Chairman G. A. Chandrasiri said.

Following the spread of the Covid-19 in Sri Lanka, the government had taken steps to close airports for tourists from entering the country.

“ With the arrival of this aircraft, flights carrying foreign tourists are scheduled to arrive at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake and MRIA under this project, “ the chairman said. (T.K.G. Kapila)
