Reasons to Visit Now!
Australia has now joined France, China, India, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, and the UK in relaxing their travel advisories to Sri Lanka! We’re happy to update that the security in Sri Lanka has been heightened and no further incidents of violence have occurred. Low season offers throughout the entire country from now through to October will give you the best value on your holiday spend this year; imagine an extra spa treatment and squeezing in more incredible experiences like game drive safaris into Minneriya or Yala National Park. All our UNESCO World Heritage sites are open as usual, and Sri Lanka’s beautiful East Coast is now in season, with one of the longest and most shallow bays in the world.
Summer Sun
Our picture perfect east coast has come into its own now, and will continue through to the end of September. The white-sand beaches of Pasikudah are at their prime and close enough to other great destinations like Arugam Bay and our quieter national parks like Gal Oya and Kumana, renowned for surf, elephant and bird life. Some of our favorite activities in the east coast is spending time at the spectacular private coves, snorkeling, diving, whale and dolphin watching and sailing. Trincomalee happens to have the largest and deepest natural harbor in the world, and a great viewpoint of this harbor is at the historic Koneswaram Kovil, which sits on a 350 feet high rock cliff. Passikudah, further south of Trincomalee boasts some of the shallowest seas, allowing you to wade dozens of meters into the ocean only to have the water at your waist!

Ananda’s Green Project
We’re proud to share a story of sustainability, from our very own local, senior Chauffeur guide Ananda Gamage. Ananda’s passion for reforesting has seen the successful planting of 710 trees amidst 154 families across Sri Lanka since 2012. Ananda has decades of experience in tourism, and has worked with us for over 28 years. While on tour, he encourages travelers to plant seedlings purchased by him, on route to locations pre-arranged, enabling visitors to give back to the environment and local communities along their journey. This passion for reforesting involves a long term plan that helps low-income families by means of gifting trees from which they could earn their living – from either the fruit or timber it bears. As a part of this long-term plan, Ananda visits these locations once every six months to one year, ensuring the trees are healthy, and each of his clients who have assisted, received image-based updates of the project; thereby maintaining a strong relationship and bond with Sri Lanka long after their holidays are over. His initiative has won him two Rotary awards and has inspired two of our other senior Chauffeur Guides Chanaka and Priyal to also join the project.
