Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) has launched a digital billboard campaign in The Netherlands for the period of September to November 2019 in order to showcase the attractions of Sri Lanka and to promote and position the destination as a safe tourist destination in the minds of the Dutch travellers.
The digital billboards are placed in the most populated locations like bus/metro/tram stops, train stations, supermarkets, pedestrian crossings, near the ATMs, bicycle rental places, side-walks, etc, in “Randstad” cities considering the highest net reach.
The “Randstad” cities are the busiest metropolitan areas in The Netherlands including Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag, Utrecht, Leiden and Tilburg. Although the Netherlands has a population of almost 17 million, its metropolitan area, called ‘Randstad’, consisting of the cities Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and The Hague combined, has a population of 8.1 million.
Sri Lanka Tourism has identified The Netherlands as an emerging market in which the Dutch travellers visited Sri Lanka were recorded as 57,160 for the year 2018.
